Large
Leaded Windows . . .
Large leaded windows are made by inserting
the stained glass pieces into lead came channels and soldering just
the connection points. This type of construction provides strength
especially when a larger window is desired. Prior to the completion
of the piece, cement is added under the lead came to fully secure
the window and add strength. Leaded windows are generally composed
of larger stained glass pieces due to the construction process although
at times, smaller foiled pieces can be incorporated to achieve the
final look. It's important to consider the light and location
for the final piece when selecting the colors of the glass.
